Design-a-thon Nashville is a 24 hour volunteer event for design, web and marketing communities to combine their superpowers and do incredible marketing feats for a single nonprofit. We create a “pop-up overnight ad agency” with volunteers. Unlike other 24-hour volunteer events (like Hackathons, GiveCamps, etc.), the Design-a-thon focuses the minds, talents and time of a large team of design professionals on one nonprofit’s challenges to create a comprehensive marketing and website makeover. All within 24 hours.
The result of this pop-up advertising agency are profound with volunteers getting to exercise their creative muscles for a good cause and nonprofits receiving a professionally-executed integrated marketing platform at low or no financial cost to them.
The 2017 Design-a-thon event will be hosted Saturday, April 1st to benefit Operation Stand Down Tennessee, a 501c3 dedicated to helping homeless veterans with housing and job placement in Nashville.
We need volunteers to fill roles on the following teams:
- Graphic Design
- Web Development
- Public Relations
- Sponsorship Development
- Live blogging/Day-of
If you’d like to participate, please complete this form.
Volunteers can expect to walk away with high quality work to add to their professional portfolio and a tight community of superhero creatives to add to their network.
A big thank you to the TechFed Nashville team, notably Chuck Bryant and Carla Swank Fox who have provided wonderful support of this event series which will officially kick off the inaugural Nashville Content Week.
