Wow. What an incredible 24 hours. In all my years of leading teams, I honestly don’t think I’ve ever witnessed anything as profound as what happened this weekend.
This group of 17 talented volunteers (most of whom had never met before) and 7 Operation Stand Down staff members worked together all through the night to create 52 unique marketing deliverables, ranging from a new logo, a brand styleguide, website redesign, a marketing plan, brochures, flyers, posters, advertisements, infographics and videos to press releases, OpEds and messages for their outdoor sign and social media. The team collectively put in 418 hours of time working on OSD’s marketing platform (and that doesn’t include any of the time it took to actually organize the event itself).
One of the genius approaches the team came up with this year was to create everything as a template that OSD can continue to adapt and use for years to come.
The OSD team spent the night working on their communications strategy and clarifying their positioning. And, they learned a lot about marketing, social media and the web, so the event helped build capacity for their organization.
John Krenson, the CEO, also got to talk about OSD’s mission on Fox News as a result of their coverage of the event, which reached over 100,000 people in Nashville over two nights of coverage. Here’s an inventory of what the team delivered
To see the work, come to the Craft Content event on April 8, where we’ll be presenting the work in Studio D at 12:05. It is a paid event, so consider coming for the entire day.
Special thanks to this year’s team of marketing professionals who delivered big league. Majorly big league.
Here are the videos, too, from Fox News.
